COVID-19 and our Events, Workshops, and Classes

Hello everyone,

As the concern about COVID-19 grows in the Portland area, we are doing our best to keep everyone healthy and safe. We know that this a very unsettling time for everyone, and our best goes out to those who are effected.

As many of you have experienced, our global supply chain has been greatly effected. Now more than ever will you, as a supply chain professional, play an important role in your organization to keep things running and part of that is to take care of your health. If you want to keep up-to-date with the latest information regarding COVID-19 and hygienic practices, the APICS Portland Chapter recommends visiting the websites of the WHO and the CDC

Please know that the APICS Portland Chapter is constantly monitoring the situation and are taking necessary steps to help prevent the spread of this outbreak. As one of our necessary steps to keep our membership safe, the APICS Portland Chapter will be cancelling two events that were set to take place in March:

  • March 17 - Inventory Control Workshop: Distribution Inventory Management
  • March 19 - Learn How Tableau is Used to Improve the Supply Chain at Bob's Red Mill

We apologize for the inconvenience and understand that many of you were looking forward to attending these popular events. For those who have registered for these events, we will begin processing full refunds today. We will also be rescheduling our Inventory Control workshop to take place in April.

Registration for our preparatory courses for CPIM Part 1, CPIM Part 2, CSCP, and CLTD are still open and is expected to be conducted. We are researching possible options for remote sessions and will be contacting those who are registered for these prep courses on how to proceed when we find a solution.

Our hope is that COVID-19 will be less than our fears, but it is important to be prepared. For our events in April (Top Management Night with Mark Rollins, VP of Supply Chain at LaCrosse Footwear) and our Membership Night in May, the APICS Portland Chapter will be preparing for many possible scenarios. As of right now, we are expecting these events to take place unless the situation escalates beyond what it is today.

We appreciate your support of the APICS Portland Chapter and we want you to know that we are committed to keeping our events safe so that you can enjoy your time with us while growing your network, making new friends, and advancing your career.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.
